At nearly 2,000' deep, Crater Lake's azure blue waters are the deepest in North America. Despite a surface water temperature in the low 50's in August (the lake is at 7,000' elevation and gets about 40' of snow each year) , I couldn't resist leaping in as my partner snapped this shot.
